Union Investment

Union Investment Group (UIG, German: Union Investment Gruppe) is one of the biggest German asset managers for private and institutional investors. On the international financial markets Union Investment Group is strongly represented with its subsidiaries and branches as much as through strategic cooperation with institutional partners. The UIG investment funds, which are open to the general public, are authorised for sale in Germany as well as in many European countries. Approximately 4 million customers have invested their assets in the Union securities deposit and benefit from the numerous services provided by the fund.

The SITGATE experts supported Union Investment Group in planning a new real estate fund platform, which not only resulted in a new fund construct, but also in new processes in administering real estate funds on the investment level. SITGATE contributed to this project many years of experience in the investment and IT-sectors as much as its acknowledged competences in process modelling and implementation.

At first the actual processes were analysed and their applicability to the newly designed real estate fund platform had to be tested by taking into account existing and, if necessary, extensible IT structures.

As a result the SITGATE consultants designed in cooperation with the responsible contact partners from the various companies of the Union Investment Group the target processes for the investment and share certificate processing as well as for overarching processes. Furthermore, SITGATE created a tender pad for the external allocation of the depositary bank-, transfer agent- as well as the funds accounting function and also accompanied the experts of the Union Investment Group in taking further steps in the due diligence phase (implementation, assessment and making a recommendation to act).
